Objectives
Establish the lab units as special entities that are integrated both internally and externally (building “hard” capacities)
Acquire the equipment & software applications via adequate procurement procedures to ensure efficiency, transparency, sustainability and cost effectiveness
Establish the organizational structure, system and procedures of the lab units that would make them operate effectively and sustainably
Description
This WP addresses the establishing of the lab units as special entities that are integrated both internally with the SEMED HEIs and externally with local, regional and global actors.
The primary aim of WP3 is to establish the “hard” capacities necessary for the lab units (the “soft” capacities needed for their efficient and sustainable operation are addressed in WP5).
These hard capacities will include:
- the equipment & software applications that will be acquired via adequate procurement procedures to ensure efficiency, transparency, sustainability and cost effectiveness
- the organizational structure, system and procedures of the lab units that would make them operate effectively and sustainably.
This will be supported with short benchmarking visits to inspect the facilities, equipment, and operation of relevant urban lab units at the EU-HEI, and to meet relevant actors and potential collaborators.
